New England Food Vision at The Festival


SBN is excited to be partnering for a third year with the Food Solutions New England (FSNE) regional network to present “The New England Village” at this year’s festival. The Village follows on the Massachusetts launch and announcement of FSNE’s “50 by 60” vision at the 2014 Link Net. A New England Food Vision calls for our region to build the capacity to produce at least 50% of clean, fair, just, and accessible food for all people in New England by 2060.

The New England Village will highlight a select few of our New England vendors as a sampling of how easy it is to support and celebrate our region’s interconnection, making a vision of 50 by 60 come to life! The New England Village is a feature of the Link Net demonstrating how states in New England are working together to realize A New England Food Vision: 50 by 60.

Meet vendors from around New England and learn more about our regional food system. Featured vendors and exhibitors in year’s New England Village include:

  • Edible Wilds, Millinocket, ME with artisan food items sourced from wild and native plants of New England that include baking mixes, salsas, syrups, more. Nature at its best!
  • Green Bee, Brunswick ME with carbonated beverage sweetened with honey collected from their own beehives. Wild blueberries sourced directly from the fields of Maine make its Blueberry Dream a true taste of Maine!
  • Popzup, Dover, NH with GMO-free, sustainably-farmed popping corn with variety of sea salt popcorn seasonings (like maple, curry, and sriracha) to spice it up. It’s microwavable!
  • Lost Art Culture Foods, Providence, RI with fermented vegetables from local farms that will delight your taste buds, bring little zest to your cooking, and nourish your body!
  • Ackerman Maple Farm, Cabot, VT with maple cream and maple syrup crafted in their sugar shack from their family-owned 6,400 taps and 76-acre hillside of Vermont’s sugar maples. How sweet it is!!
  • Vermont Amber, White River Junction, VT with its artisan toffee. The ingredients are carefully selected from a co-op that supports local area farmers. Tempting flavors range from salted sesame to spicy ginger cookie to pumpkin seed chipotle!
  • World Farmers, Inc., Lancaster, MA with bounty from the immigrant and refugee farmers on the Flats Mentor land. Harvest includes seasonal vegetables and cultural crops like amaranth /callaloo, pea tendrils, and water spinach to add to plates. Greens, greens, and more greens!
  • Cape Ann Fresh Catch, Gloucester, MA with the freshest sustainable seafood available through its Community Supported Fishery (CSF) will serve up a few dishes from sea. Fishcakes, anyone?
  • Fungi Ally, Hadley, MA with fresh mushrooms, dried mushrooms, mushroom grow kits, spawn, and mushroom extracts. Mushrooms, mushroom, mushrooms!
